Bold, clean outlines. Big open shapes. Plenty of room to actually color. One page from each book in the series, for kids ages 6 to 12.
The three pages you'll get, one from each book.
What makes these different
Bold outlines and big open shapes. No crosshatching, no shading, and no tiny gaps that are impossible to fill in.
Printed single-sided. In the books there's a blank page behind every drawing, so markers can't bleed through and spoil the next picture.
They get harder as you go. Simple shapes near the front, more detail toward the back, so one book works across the whole 6 to 12 range.
One consistent style, cover to cover. Same four characters, same scrapyard, drawn the same way every page.
Who's in them
Four friends and one enormous scrapyard. Rue has a wrench and a pair of goggles pushed up on her forehead. Deacon is tall and thoughtful and carries a rolled blueprint everywhere. Pip is the smallest and hauls the biggest backpack. And Kettle is a barrel-bodied robot with a funnel for a head and a spring for a tail.
They build machines out of whatever the yard gives up, and every machine they finish takes them somewhere they've never been.
